Welcome from Charles Axton, Region X Recovery Division Director
The Recovery Division stives to quickly and compassionately respond to the needs of disaster-impacted communities and ensure access to a full range of Individual Assistance programs and services provided under Emergency Support Function (ESF) in support of State, regional, local, tribal and voluntary organization Mass Care, Emergency Assistance, Housing, and Human Services missions.
The bulk of assistance provided by this division falls into two branches: Individual and Public Assistance.
Public Assistance Division
The Public Assistance (PA) Branch provides assistance to State, Tribal and local governments, and certain types of private non-profit organizations so that communities can quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President. Members of the team perform a wide variety of duties related to response and recovery.
The Individual Assistance mission of the Recovery Division is to ensure that indivduals and families that have been affected by disasters have access to the full range of FEMA programs in a timely manner and that the best possible level of service is provided to applicants in the administration of these programs.
Our mission also includes developing partnerships with the States, voluntary organizations, the private sector and other Federal agencies that are delivering similar kinds of assistance to these individuals.
