Residents of Carbon, Park, Yellowstone and Stillwater counties who were affected by June’s severe flooding should be aware of con artists that may try to obtain money or steal personal information through fraud or identity theft after a disaster.

The Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (MDRC) at Gardiner High School in Park County will permanently close at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 29. Additionally, the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) located at Absarokee Elementary School Gymnasium in Stillwater County will permanently close at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 30.

If you live in Park, Carbon, Yellowstone or Stillwater counties and had uninsured or underinsured losses due to June’s severe storms and floods, you may be eligible for help under FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program (IHP).

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved Montana’s request for Yellowstone County to receive Individual Assistance funding and Flathead County to receive Public Assistance funding following June’s severe storm and flooding event between June 10 and July 5, 2022. The major disaster declaration was amended on July 22, 2022.
