Division Overview

FEMA's Region I Mitigation Division is committed to excellent customer service through solid partnerships with our state, local, and tribal counterparts. Its mission is reflective of FEMA's national Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA) - to reduce loss of life and property by lessening the impact of disasters.

The Region I Mitigation Division covers the six New England states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Members of our staff are experts in various aspects of mitigation, and specialize in activities conducted within our branches:
