Emergency Planning Exercises for Your Organization

FEMA Private Sector Division, Office of External Affairs began a new series of tabletop exercises in 2010 as a tool to help private sector organizations advance their organization’s continuity, preparedness and resiliency.  The series is a part of the Division’s vigilant efforts to incorporate the private sector across all stages of FEMA’s emergency management mission, to support FEMA’s capabilities, and to enhance national preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation of all hazards.

Note on Sources: Developed by FEMA's Private Sector Division advised by FEMA's National Exercise Division, the two exercises, for a major Hurricane and Chemical Accident, draw on the federal government's National Planning Scenarios, designed as planning tools for natural disasters or terrorist attacks that face the United States.

These exercises are structured on the Tabletop Exercise Design curriculum developed by FEMA's Emergency Management Institute, as well as other FEMA/DHS training reference materials.
