Have you or your organization considered methods of improving preparedness – whether at the individual, community, local, state, tribal, or federal level, or altogether? Do you have lessons learned or a best practice you want to share with the Task Force? What concerns or problems do you think should be examined? Are there issues you believe should be a priority?
These are among the questions the Task Force will examine and your input is valuable. National preparedness requires participation from all levels of government, the private sector and members of the public. To reflect the shared nature of preparedness responsibilities, the Task Force encourages comments and individual recommendations from vital non-governmental contributors to the homeland security enterprise using any of the means listed below.
The National Dialogue on Preparedness is now open at preparedness.ideascale.com and will run through September 10, 2010. Reflecting Open Government Initiative goals of transparency, public participation and collaboration, the web-based tool will provide a means to contribute ideas and provide feedback on select proposals from all stakeholders.
Individuals who wish to submit their comments and ideas through other means may also email the Task Force directly at FEMA-Preparedness-Task-Force@fema.gov.
Along with the National Dialogue, the Task Force will host "town hall" -style meetings with preparedness stakeholder groups and the public beginning in June 2010.
Continue to check this page for updates on Task Force events and how you can participate.
Please submit your comments, ideas or recommendations to FEMA-Preparedness-Task-Force@fema.gov.
For timely consideration, submissions should be received by September 10, 2010. Note that while the Task Force appreciates and will consider all contributions, inclusion of all submissions in the final report will not be feasible.
