It is useful to duplicate a study region when performing different analyses on the same region if you want to save the results of the various analyses. If you do not duplicate the region for each analysis, the results will be continuously overwritten during the next simulation. Exporting a region creates a compressed file which facilitates sharing it with other users, better managing the disk space, and/or maintaining a backup-up copy.
