HAZUS-MH MR3 FAQs: Flood Model Operation and Analysis

I computed Stream Network/Hydrology/Hydraulics for a Study Region. I then deleted all previous scenarios and computed the Stream Network/Hydrology/Hydraulics again with a different Drainage Area. Now the Chosen Reaches and their corresponding depth grids seem to be out-of-sync geographically.

To speed up hydraulic processing a cache was added to the Flood Model that stores depth grids for each reach before they are merged at the end of the hydraulics process.  Subsequently calculating a Stream Network with a different Drainage Area yields a different synthetic stream network with different reach indices, which match up correctly with depth grids generated by a new hydraulics run, but incorrectly with the previous depth grids, which are not overwritten.

As a workaround, prior to performing Delineate Floodplain, a user should navigate to the cache of depth grids from the previous run in the Study Region's subdirectory folder called Hydraulics and delete it:
