HAZUS-MH MR3 FAQs: Flood Model Operation and Analysis

What is the maximum number of reaches that can be analyzed?

This depends in part on how long you are willing to allow your computer to process the data and run the analysis and what your goals are.  There is no real limitation on the number of reaches that can be processed beyond the amount of time required.  However, when running the hydrologic analysis, the recommended limit is 150 reaches to ensure function completion.  When running the hydraulic (Delineate Floodplain) analysis, the recommended limit is 24 reaches for the suite and 90 reaches for single discharge or single return period.
