HAZUS-MH MR3 FAQs: Earthquake Model Results

I am unable to export data from the detailed results tables. Is there a work-around?

The Export option on the right click menu of the Earthquake Results dialogs has been disabled; therefore, results cannot be exported to a TXT file. However, the user can use the windows Copy and Paste commands as a work-around. The following steps explain the process:

  1. Click on the Windows Start menu, and click on Run menu option.
  2. On the Run dialog type, regedit and click OK. This will launch the registry editor.
  3. Navigate to the folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FEMA\HAZUS-MH\General.
  4. On right side, double click on the entry RowLimit. This launches the Edit DWORD Value dialog. Change the value to 10000 and click OK. Remember this is a one time process and does not need to be repeated with every desired export.
  5. Now launch HAZUS-MH and open the Earthquake Study Region from which you want to export the results.
  6. Open the view screen for the results you want to export, e.g., Results | Ground Motion or Ground Failure | Ground Motion (by Census Tracts).
  7. Click on the top left-hand cell on grid/spreadsheet that displays the results. This will select all the results.
  8. Click Ctrl and the C keys on the keyboard together.
  9. Launch Excel and open or add a worksheet.
  10. Click on the top left corner of the worksheet and press the Ctrl and the V keys on the keyboard together.
  11. All the result values along with the column headings will be copied on the worksheet.
  12. Save the workbook.
  13. For exporting any more results, follow steps 6 to 12.

For additional information, the HAZUS Earthquake Technical Manual, as well as other HAZUS Manuals and guidance materials are available for download from the HAZUS Resources.
