HAZUS-MH FAQs: Earthquake Model - Inventory and Data Collection

Is it possible to use units smaller than census tracts (e.g., census blocks) for a HAZUS earthquake loss estimation analysis?

The census tract is the smallest unit that the HAZUS Earthquake Model can deal with normally.  However, the HAZUS open architecture allows sophisticated users to modify appropriate files in order to permit analysis by census block or grid cell.

For additional information, refer to the HAZUS Manuals and guidance materials available for download from HAZUS Resources.
