HAZUS-MH FAQs: Earthquake Model Hazard/Scenario Definition

Since the shaking maps are already defined in a selected probabilistic scenario, why do I need to specify a magnitude to define the shaking?

This magnitude is required for the liquefaction analysis and the ground shaking duration modeling.
