Shows Changes to the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) for Ballona Creek
LOMR Effective Date: September 29, 2008
Area Affected: Ballona Creek - an area bounded on the west from approximately 2,800 feet southwest of the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Interstate Highway 10 to approximately 400 feet southwest of the intersection, and bounded to the east from the intersection of South La Brea Avenue and West Haven Street to approximately 2,000 feet northeast of the intersection.
This LOMR is an update to the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) Panel No. 06037C1615 F. This FIRM panel is included in a new FIRM and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report for Los Angeles County and Incorporated Areas, scheduled to become effective on September 26, 2008. The new FIRM and FIS report only partially incorporated a LOMR dated March 30, 1995 (Case No. 94-09-909P), which revised the SFHAs, the areas that would be inundated by the base (1-percent-annual-chance) flood. This LOMR updates FIRM Panel No. 06037C1615 F to entirely incorporate the March 30 LOMR, thereby superseding the September 26 FIRM Panel for the revision area. This LOMR does not revise the SFHA boundaries from the March 30 LOMR along the revised reach.
