QUICK-2, Version 1.0

Quick-2, Version 1.0, is a Microsoft DOS hydraulic analysis program (similar to HEC-2) used to compute water-surface elevations in open channels. Quick-2 was developed to accompany the FEMA guidance manual titled, Managing Floodplain Development in Approximate Zone A Areas. Quick-2 is designed to assist community engineers, architect and engineering firms, developers, and others at the local level who may be required to develop Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) for Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs) that have been designated as Zone A.

  1. Click on the link below to extract the WinZip archive to a local directory (e.g., C:\temp) on your computer's hard drive.

  2. Open the WinZip archive and extract the files to a directory named C:\QUICK2.

    (NOTE: Quick-2, Versions 1.0 and 2.0, may be run from the same computer if the Microsoft DOS and Windows versions are installed in different directories. If you currently have Version 2.0 installed, be sure the Version 2.0 program files are not located in a C:\QUICK2 directory)

  3. Create a C:\QUICK2\DATA subdirectory and then go to the MS-DOS prompt, navigate to the C:\QUICK2 directory where the files were copied and type "Q2". This will take you to the Quick-2, Version 1.0, main program menu.

    You are now ready to run Quick-2, Version 1.0.
