Far Rockaway, N.Y., Jan. 15, 2013 -- FEMA Neighborhood Task Force Initiative members take to the field to meet with residents in Rockaway and Breezy Point, NY to address ongoing and unmet needs. By combining the forces of several departments and technology in the field, including Community Relations, Individual Assistance, FEMA Corps and volunteer agencies, FEMA is able to immediately assist Hurricane Sandy survivors who may still be lacking in aid information and resources. Several local business, including coffee shops and medical facilities, are in use as public outreach centers where survivors can have needs and concerns addressed directly by FEMA personnel. Andre R.
