Staten Island, N.Y., Nov. 13, 2012 -- Trena Johnson of the American Red Cross helps a Hurricane Sandy survivor. Faith-based and volunteer organizations help fill needs like shelters,food and clothing, and work with FEMA to to find out where help is needed. This Disaster Recovery Center( DRC) opened Tuesday at 239 Fingerboard Rd, Staten Island, and is where residents impacted by Sandy can go to begin the registration process. FEMA/Tim Burkitt
