Neptune, N.J., September 6, 2011 -- Tom Bowman (blue shirt), a MERS Radio Frequency Technician, and Tom Spain, a MERS Safety Disaster Preparedness Officer (DPO), route cable for IT as the FEMA Logistics team prepares a JFO in Neptune for FEMA specialists deployed to work on DR-4021-NJ. Members of Mobile Emergency Response Support (MERS) support the mission of FEMA by providing FEMA specialists high-speed connectivity and a safe facility in which to work, communicate and assist disaster survivors, the state and local governments in their response to flooding and wind damage caused by Hurricane Irene on August 28.
