BISMARCK, N.D. -- Protect your home and your bank account from the ravages of flooding at the Community Mitigation Workshop to be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 11 at the Mayville Armory.

On hand to discuss flood maps, flood-fighting home improvement projects, benefits of flood insurance, possible funding sources and other issues will be Mayor Donald Moen, mitigation experts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and a loan specialist from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

They will talk and answer questions about steps people can take to protect their homes inside and out from the effects of floods, severe storms and other weather-related threats - from landscaping to wiring and from do-it-yourself projects to more complicated work that could require a contractor.

The meeting will take place in the Mayville Armory 332 Center Ave. S., Mayville, N.D.
