A Disaster Recovery Center will open at noon Thursday, Feb. 8, at Nashville State Community College North Davidson Campus, 1520 Gallatin Pike North in Madison. Effective Friday, operating hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday until further notice.

Cook County homeowners and renters who were affected by the Sept. 17-18 severe storms and flooding have just three days left to apply for FEMA assistance. The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb. 9 by 11:59 p.m. More than $45 million has already been approved to help survivors recover.

FEMA has approved $1,925,814 in federal funding to The Kentucky National Guard for the emergency protective measures taken following the July 2022 floods in Eastern Kentucky.

A state-federal Disaster Recovery Center will open tomorrow Feb. 7, 2024, at 8 a.m. at the Harrison County Courthouse in Clarksburg to help West Virginia residents affected by the severe flooding that occurred Aug. 28-30, 2023.

Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) are now open in Rumford and Skowhegan. The joint DRCs are a temporary facility established in partnership between Maine and FEMA that will help survivors from the severe storms and flooding from Dec. 17-21, 2023, apply for FEMA assistance, upload documents needed for their application and answer questions in person.

Today, FEMA published a Federal Register notice requesting public comment for the “National Flood Insurance Program: Standard Flood Insurance Policy, Homeowner Flood Form," intended to reduce barriers to flood insurance adoption by simplifying the form for homeowners.
