Survivors of Indiana’s March 31 – April 1 severe storms and tornadoes who apply for disaster assistance from FEMA may be referred to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) with information on how to apply for a low-interest, long-term disaster loan.
Residents who cannot live in their homes while repairing damage from the severe storms and flooding that started on Feb. 21, or must find a new place to live, can apply for temporary rental assistance from FEMA. Residents in the disaster designated counties of Kern, Madera, Mariposa, Mendocino, Mono, Monterey, San Benito, San Bernardino, Santa Cruz, Tulare and Tuolumne may apply.
The State of Florida and FEMA are operating Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in Broward County.
As part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda, FEMA is announcing $160 million in additional funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for states, local communities, tribes, territories and the District of Columbia to build climate and disaster resiliency, including the selection of more than 400 resilience projects and activities.
Hoosiers in disaster-designated counties affected by recent severe storms and tornadoes may now have access to free legal advice through Disaster Legal Services (DLS), which provides free help with disaster-related legal issues for low-income disaster survivors.
Indiana residents affected by the March 31 – April 1 storms and tornados have one month left to register for FEMA disaster assistance.
FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians to supplement tribal recovery efforts in the areas affected by the severe winter storm and flooding Feb. 23-26, 2023.
A Disaster Recovery Center has opened in the town of Willits where residents who were affected by the February/March severe storms and flooding can get information on disaster assistance.
FEMA Public Assistance has approved grants totaling $40.1 million for Hurricane Ian debris removal in Fort Myers Beach and North Port.
