BISMARCK, N.D. -- The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Minot will be closed Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 12, for the Veterans Day weekend. It will reopen on Monday, Nov. 14.
Regular hours of operation for the DRC are: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and closed on Sunday. The DRC is located in the Dakota Mall, 2400 10th Street SW, Minot, ND 58701.
The DRC is open to provide disaster assistance to North Dakota residents who have been affected by the spring flooding. It is open for residents who like to speak one-on-one to recovery representatives. However, it is not necessary to visit a center to receive disaster assistance.
State and federal officials encourage those affected by the disaster to register for assistance immediately by calling: 800-621-3362 (also applies for VRS and 711-Relay users) or TTY 800-462-7585. The toll-free line is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. CST. Individuals may also register for disaster assistance at www.disasterassistance.gov or with a smart phone at m.fema.gov.
The deadline to apply for assistance -- and to turn in loan applications to the Small Business Administration-- is Nov. 21.
FEMA's mission is to support our citizens and first responders to ensure that as a nation we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.
