Disaster Recovery Centers to Close On Saturday Because of Snow Warnings

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Federal and Commonwealth officials announced all Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will be closed this Saturday based on snow warnings. Snowfall amounts of 6 to 12 inches are predicted for Central and Eastern Pennsylvania.

The DRCs will reopen Monday, October 31, at 10 a.m.  DRCs are not open on Sunday.

The deadline to apply for disaster assistance is November 14. Individuals with losses resulting from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee can register online at disasterassistance.gov, or call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).  Disaster assistance applicants who have a speech disability or hearing loss and use TTY should call 1-800-462-7585. You can also apply by web-enabled device at m.fema.gov. For those who use Video Relay Service (VRS), call 1-800-621-3362. Multilingual operators assist callers seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Anyone with a disability who needs help registering should contact FEMA.
