Free Advice Offered on Reducing Damage from Future Disasters at Oyster Festival in Nassau County

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Mitigation experts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be at the Oyster Festival in Nassau County this weekend to offer information on preparing for future disasters, flood insurance and rebuilding safer and stronger.

FEMA staff will have a display booth at the Oyster Festival, on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at:

Information on how to repair and clean flooded homes will be available.  Among the publications available will be: Protecting Your Home and Property from Flood Damage, The Benefits of Flood Insurance versus Disaster Assistance, Answers to Questions About the National Flood Insurance Program.
