BISMARCK, N.D. – One Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Minot and the Sherwood DRC will close this week.
The DRC currently located in the Minot MSU Student Center will close at 7 p.m. Friday, July 29. Residents are encouraged to visit the remaining Minot DRC located at the Minot Auditorium, 420 Third Avenue Southwest.
The Sherwood City Hall DRC will close at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 30.
The hours of operation for all DRCs are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed on Sunday.
The North Dakota Department of Emergency Services (NDDES) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ask that residents affected by the floods register with FEMA, call 1-800-621-3362 (TTY 1-800-462-7585) or go online at www.fema.gov or www.disasterassistance.gov. Individuals may also register by smart phone at m.fema.gov.
Calling any other local or state number will not get you registered for FEMA assistance.
While DRCs are set up for residents who want to speak one-on-one to recovery representatives, it is not necessary to visit a center to receive disaster assistance.
Residents who plan to stop by any DRC are urged to call or go on-line to register for assistance before their visit. The free registration line is open daily from 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. CDT until further notice.
