CLINTON, Miss. -- The Disaster Recovery Center in Yazoo County is closing at 7 p.m. July 19.

The center is located in the Annie Ellis Elementary School, 1318 Grand Ave. in Yazoo City.

Survivors of Mississippi's May flooding who have registered for assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency can still get help by calling FEMA's Helpline, 800-621-FEMA (3362).

Applicants can learn the status of their request, update their contact information, respond to requests for information, and ask questions about the application process.

Information also is available online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, from mobile devices at m.fema.gov, and via TTY 800-462-7585. FEMA will assist anyone with a disability who needs help -- just ask.

The deadline has passed for survivors of the May flooding to register for disaster assistance. FEMA no longer will accept new applications related to the floods.

FEMA's mission is to support our citizens and first responders to ensure that as a nation we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.
