BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Survivors who want help filling out U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loan applications are encouraged to attend a Disaster Information Workshop where trained volunteers and federal workers are available to assist them.
Through these workshops, the Alabama Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency are reaching out to survivors in areas reporting the fewest number of loan application returns.
“We have less than a week until the July 18 deadline,” said State Coordinating Officer Jeff Byard of AEMA. “Numerous Disaster Information Workshops are being held to assist survivors with this process, especially in areas where SBA loan applications have been low. Those still in need of assistance are encouraged to apply.”
“Returning the disaster loan application is key to getting money for long-term rebuilding and it also opens the door for other grants that don’t have to be paid back,” said Federal Coordinating Officer Michael F. Byrne of FEMA.
Workshops scheduled for July 13 – 16 are:
