COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today the opening of a second Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (MDRC) in Carter County on July 11 to help survivors of the flooding with their applications for federal and state disaster assistance.
The MDRC will be located at the Van Buren Church of Christ, 1020 Main Street, Van Buren, MO, 63965. Operating hours will be Monday, July 11, 2011, from 1 to 6 p.m., and then from Tuesday through Friday, July 12 through July 15, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This MDRC will close at 6 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011.
Specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be on hand to meet with storm survivors, face-to-face, to answer any disaster assistance questions, and to help applicants complete their SBA disaster loan applications.

SBA low-interest disaster loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters also may be eligible for up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.
Businesses of any size and private non-profit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is the federal government's primary source of money for the long-term rebuilding of disaster-damaged private property.
