FEMA Mitigation Outreach Teams Will Provide Free Advice
MARION, Ill. -- Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) hazard mitigation teams will provide free advice to Illinois residents who sustained damage during the recent flooding or who have questions about protecting their homes from future disasters.
These specialists, who will be at local home improvement centers for the next few weeks, will offer advice on cost-effective ways to reduce future flood damage, home elevations, safe rooms, structural concerns and other disaster-related issues.
Locations and times for FEMA Mitigation outreach teams follow:
June 29 – July 2:

Individuals who sustained disaster damage can still apply for FEMA assistance by calling the Helpline at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or TTY 1-800-462-7585. Multilingual operators are available to assist individuals with limited English proficiency. Residents also may apply online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov., or by web enabled mobile device at m.fema.gov.
