NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Mitigation experts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be at the Atoka Centennial Celebration in Tipton County to offer tips on preparing for future disasters, rebuilding safer and stronger and flood insurance.

Information on how to repair and clean your flooded home will be available. Among the other topics available will be booklets on helping children cope with a disaster, flood insurance, food and water in an emergency, flood fact sheets and taking shelter from the storm, and rebuilding safer and stronger.

FEMA's housing assistance and Other Needs Assistance grants for medical, dental, and funeral expenses do not require individuals to apply for an SBA loan. However, applicants who receive SBA loan applications must submit them to SBA loan officers to be considered for assistance that covers personal property, vehicle repair or replacement, and moving and storage expenses. Applicants who
do not qualify for a SBA loan may be eligible to receive Other Needs Assistance grants for these items.
