FEMA Mobile Disaster Recovery Center Opens June 23 in Stoddard County

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today it will open a Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (MDRC) in Stoddard County to help survivors of the recent tornado with their applications for federal and state disaster assistance.

The MDRC will be located at the Bloomfield R14 School District, High School Gym Concession Area, 405 West Missouri St., in Bloomfield. Operating hours will be Thursday, June 23, 2011, from 1 to 6 p.m., and then Friday through Tuesday, June 24, 2011, through June 28, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The MDRC will be closed Sunday, June 26, 2011.

Specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be on hand to meet with storm survivors, face-to-face, to answer any disaster assistance questions, and to help applicants complete their SBA disaster loan applications.

Telephone registration is available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily, until further notice.

SBA low-interest disaster loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters also may be eligible for up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.

Businesses of any size and private non-profit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets.
