DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. -- The joint state/federal Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) operating in Cicero, Westchester and the Austin area of Chicago will now be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, according to disaster officials. The change takes effect this Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010.
In addition, the Cicero DRC located at the Cicero Public Safety Building, 5410 W. 34 St., Cicero, will also close at noon Monday, Nov. 1 and reopen Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 9 a.m. to accommodate local voting at that location.
The other Disaster Recovery Center locations in the area are:

Regular DRC hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
It is not necessary to visit a DRC to apply for federal assistance. Residents can apply online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call toll-free 1-800-621-3362 (TTY 1-800-462-7585). Operators are available from 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. (EDT) daily until further notice. Multilingual help is available.
