Kentucky Disaster Recovery Centers Open In Adair, Madison Counties

LEXINGTON, Ky. --  Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs), operated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), open Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in Adair and Madison Counties.

DRCs are open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The new centers are located at:

Staff at the recovery centers can check individuals’ cases, answer questions about claims, or review information needed to process their claims.  Recovery specialists from FEMA Individual Assistance, FEMA Mitigation, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Commonwealth can also supply contacts for other programs that may be able to help.

SBA representatives will be at the disaster centers to answer questions about the SBA low-interest disaster loan program for homeowners, renters, businesses and private, non-profit organizations of all sizes. These loans are to repair or replace real estate and/or personal property damaged by the storms and flooding.

Representatives at the DRC will help complete and accept SBA disaster loan applications. Additional counties, and their residents, may be designated for federal disaster assistance at a later date if requested by the Commonwealth and warranted by the results of further damage assessments
