Disaster Recovery Centers In Polk And Jasper Counties To Close

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Polk and Jasper Counties will close Saturday, July 18 at 5p.m.

The DRC locations are:

United Methodist Church
501 W. Fourth St.
Joplin, MO  64801

Polk County Emergency Management Office/EOC
1913 W. Broadway, Suite G
Bolivar, MO 65613

Current hours are: Wednesday thru Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) said the DRCs are open to serve those affected by the May 8 - 16 severe storms, tornadoes and flooding. One does not have to reside in Jasper or Polk Counties to access the DRCs services.

FEMA and SEMA continue to urge those affected by the storms to register for disaster assistance. Registration will remain open until August 18. Missouri residents are urged to register online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling FEMA's toll-free Helpline, 800-621-FEMA (3362) or (TTY) 800-462-7585. Helpline hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily until further notice.
