FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The two Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Kentucky, located in Jackson and Pikeville, will remain open July 3 and 4 to help Kentuckians with questions related to the May storms and flooding disaster. However, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in Langley, Booneville and Belfry will be closed on those days.

Disaster Recovery Centers

Breathitt County
Lifeskills Center (2nd floor), 1127 Main St., Jackson, KY 41339
8 a.m.-7 p.m. Mon.-Sat., Through July 11

Pike County
Johns Creek Elementary School, 8302 Meta Hwy, Pikeville, KY  41501
8 a.m.-7 p.m. Mon.-Sat., Through July 11

The Kentucky Emergency Management Agency (KYEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) opened these and other temporary recovery centers on June 3 to give Kentuckians the opportunity to meet in person with disaster recovery specialists.  There have been more than 3,300 visits to the DRCs.

Officials stress, however, that it is not necessary to visit a DRC to register for aid, since help is just a phone call away. Recovery specialists staff the FEMA helpline, 800-621-FEMA (3362), daily from      7 a.m.  to 10 p.m.

Anyone in Breathitt, Floyd, Owsley, Pike and Magoffin counties with damage from the storms and flooding during early May who has not done so is urged to register for assistance by calling the FEMA Helpline, 800-621-FEMA (3362) or  TTY 800-462-7585 or by going online to www.DisasterAssistance.gov.  The deadline to register for assistance is July 27.
