MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Moorhead will be closed on Sunday and Memorial Day, and will reopen next week for its last few days of business.
"Nearly 900 residents have visited our Moorhead DRC during the past five weeks, and we encourage anyone who needs assistance to visit the center during its last days," said Federal Coordinating Officer Michael H. Smith. "We also remind residents that they can still apply for assistance or inquire about their applications online or by calling FEMA's toll-free number."
The DRC is operated jointly by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). There are also mitigation specialists available to discuss cost-effective ways to reduce future disaster damages.
The DRC in Moorhead will continue with its normal hours after the holiday and will end operations at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 29. Location and hours are:

Individuals are encouraged to register for assistance before visiting a DRC by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or TTY 1-800-462-7585. FEMA operators are available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. CDT seven days a week. Registration can be completed online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.
Visitors to the DRC will find information on:
- FEMA and State disaster assistance programs.
- SBA low-interest disaster loans and how to complete the loan application.
- Smart building techniques to reduce damage from future floods.
- Flood insurance.
SBA representatives at the DRC will be available to meet individually with each resident or business owner to answer questions about the SBA disaster loan program, help them complete their disaster loan applications and accept their completed applications.
