SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today, changes to the operating hours of the Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) and Helpline, during the Holidays.
Starting on Monday, December 22, DRCs hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday. On Wednesday December 24, the DRCs will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The DRCs will remain closed on December 25th and 26th.
FEMA's Helpline will be closed on December 25th and will resume operations on December 26th, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 pm.
Individuals who suffered property damage or who had personal losses resulting from the September 21 - October 3, 2008 floods should call the toll-free number 1-800-621-3362, for the speech- or hearing-impaired the TTY number is 1-800-462-7585, before the registration deadline, which is January 15, 2009. Registration is also available online at www.fema.gov.
