Madison, Wis. -- For those Wisconsin residents seeking advice on rebuilding storm-damaged homes and businesses, answers are available at county fairs and local hardware and home-improvement stores.

Community Education Outreach (CEO) specialists of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have been setting up shop in hard-hit areas of Southern Wisconsin. They are there to provide information and answer residents' questions. In addition to staffing locations at home-improvement and hardware stores, FEMA outreach teams also are at county fairs and have set up self-service displays at 52 public locations in storm-damaged Wisconsin communities.

CEO teams are suggesting remedies for mold, offering rebuilding techniques to avoid future storm damage and providing information on federal and state disaster assistance programs. They also help residents register for assistance and answer questions about federal flood insurance.

Since July 4, CEO teams have provided information to more than 4,000 Wisconsin residents.

?Getting information to the people who most need it is a vital part of recovering from floods and other disasters,? said Dolph Diemont, FEMA's federal coordinating officer for Wisconsin. ?Our outreach teams get into damaged areas as quickly as possible and work directly with residents to speed recovery and reduce future damage.? As federal coordinating officer, Diemont leads the U.S. government side of the joint federal/state disaster response and recovery effort.

Questions about mold and flooded basements are some of the more common issues raised by Wisconsin residents according to FEMA CEO team members.

The following table shows where CEO mitigation teams can be found and the dates and times they will be available:
