JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Jasper County will relocate Monday, April 28, to the Bethany Presbyterian Church, 1930 Virginia Ave., Joplin, MO 64804. It was formerly at the First United Methodist Church on West Fourth Street.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) said the DRC will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., until further notice. Closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Visitors to the DRCs will find information on FEMA and state disaster assistance programs; U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loans and how to complete the loan application; smart building techniques to reduce damage from future floods; and flood insurance.
Applicants should register with FEMA prior to visiting the DRC. Register by calling FEMA's toll-free registration line at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) (TTY 1-800-462-7585) from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Or go online at www.fema.gov, 24 hours a day.?
