The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provides one simple number, 1-800-621-FEMA to both register for assistance and as a Helpline.

Applicants affected by the December severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides may use 1-800-621-FEMA to get answers to questions, including how to appeal, change their address, phone number, or any other initial information they provided at application, check on the status of their application and make necessary changes regarding their application.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
