Mobile DRC In Council Bluffs On June 25

URBANDALE, Iowa -- Severe storms and flooding of May 5-7 affected many people in Pottawattamie County. The Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division (HSEMD) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have announced that the mobile Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will be in Council Bluffs on Monday, June 25th to assist people who received damage from the storms. The mobile DRC will be there for one day only.

The mobile DRC will locate at the Council Bluffs Fire Station #4, 2211 Greenwood Road, Council Bluffs. The hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Representatives of state, federal and voluntary agencies will be available to answer questions and provide recovery information. Officials from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be ready to discuss disaster loans for homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes. Written materials about various assistance programs are also provided to individuals and business owners.

Before visiting the mobile DRC, disaster victims are urged to register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or on-line at www.fema.gov. The TTY number is 1 800 462 7585 for the hearing- or speech-impaired. 

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
