Tulia Disaster Recovery Center to End Operations on Saturday

EAGLE PASS, Texas -- After successfully serving more than 125 storm victims, the Tulia Disaster Recovery Center will end operations at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 26. The center, at Tulia City Hall, 127 SW 2nd St. #300, remains open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Saturday.

For those who may still have disaster assistance questions after the center closes, help remains just a phone call away. Multilingual operators at the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) Helpline 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 are available to answer disaster aid questions and assist applicants, who may want to check on the status of their application.

Disaster victims, affected by the severe storms and tornadoes of April 21-24, can still register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585. Lines are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily. Residents can also register online at where valuable recovery information is also available. July 2, 2007 is the deadline to apply for disaster assistance.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
