Disaster Recovery Centers In Florida Panhandle Serve Hurricane Victims

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The four Disaster Recovery Centers operating in Florida's Panhandle welcome Hurricane Dennis victims and Katrina evacuees seeking disaster assistance information.

Those who have questions about disaster assistance may visit any recovery center now open to meet face-to-face with recovery specialists associated with the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency and Florida State Emergency Response Team. Representatives of local, state and federal agencies, as well as voluntary agencies, will be on hand to provide program and service information. U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) representatives will be available to assist individuals and business owners with low-interest disaster loan applications. Written materials about various assistance programs are also available.

Anyone interested in information on mitigation, flood insurance, or related topics is welcome to come to the centers. Please note these centers provide information only, they do not have emergency supplies such as ice and water.

Operating hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily, until further notice.

Additionally, SBA's Franklin County workshop will be open in the East Point Volunteer Fire Department located at 24 6th Street in East Point, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., through close of business Thursday, September 8.
