Nashville, TN -- A mobile disaster recovery center will make a series of stops in the towns of Dayton, Benton and Kimball on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (May 23, 24 and 25) to allow residents who suffered losses in the severe storms of May to get disaster assistance information and learn the status of their applications for aid.
The recovery center in Dayton will locate in the parking lot of the Regions Bank, 375 Church St. on Friday. Saturday in Benton it will be at the Polk County Courthouse, U.S. Hwy 411. In Kimball on Sunday it will be in the Wal-Mart parking lot, 525 Kimball Crossing Dr.. The hours at each location will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Disaster specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be available to explain assistance programs and answer questions.
To receive assistance, residents of declared counties must first register with FEMA by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) toll-free between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. seven days a week. Applicants with speech or hearing impairment should use the TDD number, 1-800-462-7585.
