Help Centers Will Remain Open On The 4th Of July

Mesa, AZ -- The State of Arizona and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) realize that the needs of those affected by the recent wildfires continue even though it may be a holiday for many. To better serve the needs of people and businesses, the Disaster Help Centers will remain open Thursday, July 4.

The center locations are:

  • Eastern Arizona College, 201 North Mud Springs Rd., Payson (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Show Low Primary School, 1350 North Central Ave., Show Low (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Mobile unit at the Veteran's Building in White River (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • Capps Middle School, 3375 Buckskin Canyon Road in Heber (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.)

Recovery teams at the centers are available to answer questions and provide recovery information about various assistance programs. Disaster programs include temporary housing assistance, low-interest disaster loans, individual and family grants, and disaster unemployment insurance. This is also an opportunity for homeowners to receive information about wildfire mitigation and safety tips.

Individuals affected by the fires are urged to start the application process before visiting the centers by calling FEMA's toll-free number at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Hearing and speech-impaired individuals may call 1-800-462-7585 (TTY).
