Washington, DC -- Want to thank the brave rescue workers in New York who have dedicated their time to saving lives and searching for survivors?

The New York City post office and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have designated a post office box for letters of recognition and thanks. Anyone wanting to write the rescue workers, such as firefighters, police officers, and urban search and rescue teams, can send a letter to:

Search and Rescue
P.O. Box 2551
New York, NY 10166

The mail received will be circulated among firefighters, police officers and all search and rescue personnel and will then be posted in the living quarters of the FEMA task force members. The workers appreciate your support as they continue to sort through debris and labor under challenging conditions during the coming weeks.
