Charleston, WV -- Homeowners, renters and business owners in Greenbrier and Nicholas Counties who sustained damage in storms, flooding and mudslides during the last three months can now apply for federal disaster recovery assistance.
This assistance may include grants to help pay for temporary housing, emergency home repairs and other serious disaster-related expenses. Low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration also will be available to cover residential and business losses not fully compensated by insurance.
Disaster unemployment assistance also makes available weekly benefit payments to those out of work due to the disaster, including self-employed persons and others not covered by regular unemployment programs.

When applying, applicants should provide their social security number, address and zip code of the damaged property, directions to the damaged property and telephone numbers where they can be reached during the day.
Everyone who has experienced damage to their homes and property, is encouraged to register, even if he or she is unsure of eligibility or extent of damages.
