FEMA to Close Disaster Recovery Centers and Registeration Line in Observance of July Fourth Holiday

San Juan, PR -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will close the Adjuntas and Yauco Disaster Recovery Centers on July fourth in observance of the federal holiday. FEMA's National Telereistration Center and Helpline will also close on July fourth and reopen the following day.

Residents affected by the May 6 - 11 floods and residing in the declared municipalities have until July 16 to register for federal and commonwealth disaster assistance. Residents are encouraged to register with FEMA by calling 1-800-462-9029. Hearing and speech impaired individuals may call TTY at 1-800-462-7585.

Those who have registered for state and federal disaster assistance may call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-525-0321 to receive information about, or provide updates to their application. Helpline representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to answer questions about the assistance process or the status of applications.

Municipalities in the declaration include: Adjuntas, Cabo Rojo, Gu?nica, Guayanilla, Lajas, Rinc?n, San Germ?n, Sabana Grande and Yauco.
