PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Greater Portland area (5 counties) and Portland and the Cascadia Region Earthquake Workgroup will present a forum on earthquake disaster planning at the Jones Farm Conference Center of Intel in Hillsboro, OR on October 11, 2000. Content includes hazards , risk assessment, structural engineering challenges, mitigation strategies, insurance availability and limitations, business impact analysis and real-life experiences from elected officials and businesses that have gone through the experience of an earthquake. Multnomah County and the City of Portland, both Project Impact participants, are part of the sponsoring group being headed by Scott Porter, Washington County Emergency Manager. Clackamas County, a Project Impact applicant, is also participating.
