Disaster Registration, Helpline Hours Change

Santa Fe, NM -- Operating hours have changed for both the toll-free registration number and the disaster Helpline, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The new hours for both are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday effective immediately.

Individuals and businesses in the 21 counties designated a federal major disaster area, who sustained damage but have not already applied should register as soon as possible. The Teleregistration number is 1-800-462-9029 (TTY: 1-800-462-7585).

Applicants who need to talk with FEMA, for example to update information or check on the status of their applications, may call the Helpline at 1-800-525-0321 (TTY 1-800-462-7585).

Designated counties are Bernalillo, Chaves, Cibola, DeBaca, Dona Ana, Eddy, Guadalupe, Lincoln, Los Alamos, McKinley, Mora, Otero, Rio Arriba, Sandoval, San Juan, San Miguel, Santa Fe, Sierra, Socorro, Taos and Torrance.
