Washington, DC -- Hurricane Floyd, the biggest storm of 1999, has reached the top ten list for FEMA disaster relief costs for the past ten years. Floyd is not only on the all time hurricane list at number four, but also appears as number eight on the overall U.S. disaster list for 1989 to 1999.

To date, FEMA has obligated $682.9 million to assist with the recovery from Floyd in 13 states. These states include Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont and Virginia.
