The Kentucky Division of Emergency Management (KyEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have opened a disaster field office (DFO) in Owensboro. It will be the central coordinating point for all response and recovery efforts by state and federal agencies as a result of widespread damage created by early January tornadoes and flash flooding in Daviess, Crittenden and Webster Counties.

The DFO does not directly serve the public, but functions as a headquarters from which emergency managers operate. It is located in the lower level of the Executive Inn, One Executive Dr., Owensboro. Working media news personnel may visit the facility and confer directly with FEMA and KyEM public affairs specialists, who in turn can arrange interviews as desired with state or federal officials. DFO hours will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily until further notice.
